Two young men were critically injured after being shot by Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the Boxnagar–Putia border area on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred when the duo reportedly attempted to cross the India–Bangladesh border amid heightened security alerts along the frontier.
The injured youths, identified as Saddam Hossain and Sonu Miah, were initially taken to Bishalgarh Hospital for emergency treatment.
However, due to the severity of their injuries, they were quickly referred to GBP Hospital in Agartala, where they are currently undergoing medical care.
According to preliminary reports, BSF personnel opened fire when the two attempted to cross the border despite warnings. Local authorities and BSF officials have not yet issued any formal statements regarding the shooting, leaving several questions unanswered about the circumstances leading to the incident.
