Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury today announced that Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya Scindia will arrive in Tripura tomorrow for a three-day official visit beginning January 23.

During his visit, the Union Minister will lay foundation stones for several developmental projects funded by the DoNER Ministry. He is also scheduled to hold a meeting with Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha, after which both leaders will visit various locations across the state. Scindia will also attend a programme at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.

On January 24, the Union Minister will visit the Tripura Sundari Temple, where he will review ongoing tourism development works and offer prayers.

According to Minister Chowdhury, on January 25 Scindia will travel to Kadamtala in North Tripura district to inaugurate the Agar Cluster Processing Centre at Baragole. He will then proceed to the Unakoti heritage site to review overall development and tourism-related initiatives. Later in the day, he will visit Narkel Kunja at the Dumboor Reservoir, where he is scheduled to stay overnight.

The Tourism Minister further informed that the DoNER Ministry has sanctioned funds for the development of the Mata Bari Circuit under the tourism sector, and foundation stones for certain components of the project will be laid during the visit.

Scindia is scheduled to depart for Guwahati on the evening of January 25. Ahead of the visit, a preparatory meeting has already been conducted to ensure the smooth execution of the Union Minister’s tour programme.
