C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Vice President of India, arrived on Saturday in Agartala on a two-day official visit to Tripura.
He was warmly received at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu and Chief Minister Manik Saha, MP and BJP state President Rajib Bhattacharya, Chief Secretaray JK Sinha.
According to the official itinerary, the Vice President will begin his engagements on Sunday morning by paying tribute to the brave soldiers at the Albert Ekka War Memorial in Agartala.
Following this, he is scheduled to visit the revered Tripurasundari Temple to offer prayers.
Later in the day, the Vice President will attend the 14th Convocation Ceremony of Tripura University. During the event, he will confer degrees upon graduating students and participate in various ceremonial proceedings of the university.
As part of his visit, C. P. Radhakrishnan will also interact with women beneficiaries associated with the Lakhpati Didi initiative at the International Fair Ground in Hapania, Tripura.
In view of the Vice President’s visit, the state administration has implemented tight security arrangements across the region to ensure the smooth conduct of all scheduled events.
