Tripura Police from the Sonamura Police Station arrested a woman early this morning for her alleged involvement in drug trafficking.

Police sources said that during a late-night raid at her residence, officers recovered 5.985 kg of dry ganja. A Maruti Eeco vehicle (Registration No. TR 07 0413)—suspected to have been used to transport the illegal substance from Sonamura to different locations—was also seized from the premises.

Following the operation, a case under the NDPS Act was registered at Sonamura Police Station. The accused will be produced before the honorable court later today.

The woman has been identified as Poppy Akhtar, 23, a resident of Matinagar East Tilai under the jurisdiction of Sonamura Police Station.

During interrogation, Akhtar reportedly shared information about more individuals from the area who may be involved in the drug trade. Police said the details are being verified, and further legal action will be taken based on evidence.
