The Asom Association of Tripura is all set to celebrate the vibrant and joyous festival of Rongali Bihu on May 11, at the Town Hall in Agartala.
This annual celebration of Assam’s springtime harvest festival aims to showcase the rich cultural traditions of Assam while fostering unity and cultural exchange among the diverse communities of Tripura.
The day-long festivities will begin with a flag hoisting ceremony in the morning and culminate in a grand cultural evening starting at 5:00 PM.
The evening program will be inaugurated by Santana Chakma, Minister of Industries & Commerce, Government of Tripura.
A major highlight of the evening will be a captivating performance by Nahar Samanya Gusthi, a distinguished cultural troupe from Jorhat, Assam.
The troupe, comprising 25–30 performers, will present traditional Bihu dance forms, offering audiences an immersive experience of Assamese cultural heritage.
Established in 2004 by professionals from Assam working in Tripura, the Asom Association of Tripura has been dedicated to organizing this festival annually.
