Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha stated on Monday that the recent electoral victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reflects a strong public desire for political change, particularly in West Bengal. He suggested that voters have expressed their mandate for a different governance approach.
Speaking to the media during a victory rally in Agartala, Saha said the election results indicate that people were looking for a shift in leadership and policies. He added that the outcome has generated a sense of optimism among BJP supporters across the country.
Saha credited the party’s performance to the leadership of Narendra Modi, along with key figures like Amit Shah and J. P. Nadda. According to him, coordinated efforts by the central leadership and party workers across states contributed significantly to the results.
He also pointed out that BJP secured victories in other regions, including a by-election in Dharmanagar (Tripura), as well as electoral gains in Assam and Puducherry, and some seats in Kerala. He emphasized that the party continues to expand under its current leadership.
Commenting on West Bengal’s political landscape, Saha remarked that voters have shown their preference for governance focused on stability, security, and development. He criticized previous administrations, including both Communist Party of India (Marxist) and All India Trinamool Congress, alleging that governance challenges had persisted over the years.
Saha concluded by congratulating the people of West Bengal, stating that electoral outcomes reflect public expectations for better governance and accountability.
