In a major crackdown on the illegal narcotics trade, security forces and police jointly seized 777.6 kg of dry ganja during a raid in the Matinagar Uttar Para area under Sonamura Police Station last night.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a joint team comprising personnel from Sonamura Police Station, 81 Battalion BSF and 11th Battalion TSR conducted a search operation in the field-side area of Matinagar Uttar Para.

During the operation, the team recovered 777 kg 600 grams of dry ganja packed and stored in 29 plastic drums of various sizes. As no person was found claiming ownership of the consignment, the entire quantity was seized as unclaimed after completing all necessary legal procedures.
