Tripura BJP MP and party national general secretary Biplab Kumar Deb on Saturday asserted that the people’s mandate remains supreme in a democracy, saying the NDA’s electoral victories in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry reflect public confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
In a statement, Deb said the election results had sent a strong political message to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the INDI Alliance, underlining the electorate’s continued support for the NDA and its policies.
He said democratic institutions and electoral outcomes must be respected, adding that repeatedly questioning institutions following electoral setbacks was not the appropriate response to the people’s verdict. According to Deb, the electorate’s decision is the ultimate expression of democratic choice and must be accepted with due respect.
Deb congratulated the BJP leadership, party workers and supporters for their efforts behind the electoral successes. He also extended his greetings to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy.
He further conveyed his congratulations to the respective state party presidents and grassroots workers, crediting their dedication, organisational strength and sustained public outreach for the party’s performance.
Deb said the results reinforced the importance of public trust, effective leadership and grassroots mobilisation in electoral politics, while reiterating that the people’s verdict must remain the guiding principle of a democratic system.
