Concerns have been raised over alleged irregularities in attendance and office discipline at the Sub-Inspector of Schools offices located near Sabroom Post Office in South Tripura, particularly at the Satcandal and Rupaisurri inspection offices.
According to local sources, questions have emerged regarding non-compliance with official government working hours. It has been alleged that some staff members are not adhering to prescribed schedules and are attending office at their convenience.
The most serious allegation concerns the officer-in-charge of the Satcandal Sub-Inspector of Schools office, Irenjoy Reang, who is reportedly frequently absent from office. However, it is claimed by his supporters that he is often engaged in official duties such as meetings at the District Education Inspectorate office, academic board engagements, and school inspection visits.
When journalists attempted to verify the situation on Wednesday evening, Deputy Sub-Inspector of Schools, Daniel Reang, reportedly denied the allegations. However, a staff member, Manik Chakraborty, was seen on camera admitting that some employees leave the office before the scheduled closing time.
Similar allegations have also surfaced from the Rupaisurri Sub-Inspector of Schools office, which operates in the same building. A cash section employee is accused of closing the office room before official hours. There are also claims that several employees have been irregular in attendance for a prolonged period, which is reportedly reflected in attendance registers.
Further concerns suggest that some employees leave the office claiming official visits to the district headquarters, but their presence at the district office could not be verified. These issues are said to have caused internal dissatisfaction among staff members.
Rupaisurri Deputy Sub-Inspector of Schools, Nandalal Das, is also alleged to have acknowledged the irregular attendance of some employees, according to complainants.
Local residents believe that a fair and independent administrative investigation could reveal the true situation within these education inspection offices. However, no official response from the concerned authorities has been made available so far.
It is important to note that the authenticity of these allegations has not been independently verified, and further administrative inquiry is expected to clarify the matter.
