Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma today said that education forms the strongest foundation for the development of tribal society.
He said this after he visited the S.T. Boys and Girls Hostel in Gandatwisa subdivision, spending quality time with the students and interacting with them about their studies and dreams.
The Minister expressed that engaging with the young generation of tribal communities reinforced his belief that they are the greatest strength for the future.
“Education has the power to transform lives. While many tribal children were previously deprived of educational opportunities due to various reasons, the times have changed,” said the Minister.
He said, “If our children are enlightened through education, they will not only shape their own futures but also guide the entire society towards new directions.”
During his visit, Minister Debbarma closely observed the hostel environment, the study facilities, and the quality of meals provided to the students. He even shared lunch with the girls to better understand their daily experiences.
He emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure a healthy, safe, and supportive environment for all students.
The Minister reiterated that education forms the strongest foundation for the development of tribal society. Ensuring access to education for every child in remote areas and facilitating the fulfillment of their dreams remain the government’s primary goals.
He pledged to continue working with this sense of responsibility so that the next generation grows more confident, educated, and empowered to advance society.
