Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha expressed confidence that the BJP will continue its winning streak in the state and secure victory in the 2028 Assembly elections.
Speaking after arriving in Guwahati, Assam, to attend an oath-taking ceremony, Dr. Saha said he felt “positive and encouraged” by recent political developments across the country.
He noted that he had attended a similar ceremony in West Bengal two days earlier and was now in Assam on May 12. According to him, there is a “positive atmosphere” in India, and people are generally satisfied. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the BJP’s electoral successes across various states, calling it a matter of “pride and happiness” for the party, especially in Tripura.
Dr. Saha highlighted that the BJP had won the Assembly elections in Tripura in 2018 and 2023, and expressed confidence that the party would again emerge victorious in 2028. He added that the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president Nitin Nabin would guide the party to another win.
“We are confident of victory in the upcoming election with their support and guidance,” he said.
On the issue of infiltration, the Chief Minister pointed out that Tripura shares borders with Bangladesh on three sides. He said the government is closely monitoring the situation and will further strengthen border security. He also emphasized that similar efforts are needed across the Northeast, noting that the “double-engine government” is actively working to curb infiltration.
