Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha has issued firm instructions to all security agencies and concerned departments to take immediate and effective measures to restore peace, law and order across Tripura, ensuring the safety and security of the public.
The directive came after the Chief Minister chaired a series of high-level meetings late last night at his official residence to assess the law and order situation following reports of post-election violence in several parts of the state.
According to reports, tensions have escalated in some areas after the announcement of the TTAADC election results. Incidents of violence have been reported from multiple locations, with allegations that some miscreants associated with the Tipra Motha Party were involved in disruptive activities under the cover of political affiliation. Several houses were reportedly damaged and some individuals were injured in the clashes.
In response, Dr. Saha first held discussions with senior BJP leaders, including ministers, MLAs, and tribal representatives. The meeting focused on the ground situation, relief measures, and support being extended to those affected. The Chief Minister also gathered feedback from party leaders on improving assistance and rehabilitation efforts.
Later, he convened a separate meeting with top administrative and security officials, including Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, Home Secretary Abhishek Singh, Director General of Police Anurag, and senior representatives from security forces such as BSF, Tripura State Rifles (TSR), and Assam Rifles.
During the review, the Chief Minister stressed the urgent need to restore normalcy and maintain public order. He directed all agencies to act swiftly and firmly to prevent further incidents and ensure that peace is maintained in all affected areas.
He also emphasized strict legal action against those found responsible for the violence, stating that such activities will not be tolerated and must be dealt with decisively to prevent recurrence.
