Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday asserted that the era of politics driven by intimidation and communal tension is nearing its end, expressing strong confidence that the BJP will establish governance in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

The Chief Minister made these remarks after inaugurating a BJP campaign vehicle at the party’s state office in Agartala. The vehicle is set to travel across TTAADC regions to highlight the achievements and initiatives undertaken by the BJP-led government for indigenous communities.

Dr. Saha stated that many tribal residents are still unaware of the developmental work carried out in the region, and the campaign aims to bridge that information gap. He emphasized that the upcoming TTAADC elections, scheduled for April 12, will be crucial for ensuring continued progress.

According to the Chief Minister, the BJP is receiving encouraging support on the ground, with several leaders from Tipra Motha switching allegiance and others showing interest in joining the party.

Criticizing previous administrations, Dr. Saha alleged that both the CPI(M) and Tipra Motha failed to bring meaningful development to the tribal council areas. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for prioritizing the welfare of Janajati communities and said the state government is committed to continuing that vision.

He further remarked that voters have become more aware and no longer support empty promises. “Development requires genuine work, not rhetoric,” he said, adding that corruption in TTAADC will be exposed before the public.

Highlighting the party’s campaign strategy, Dr. Saha said BJP workers are actively engaging with people across the region, focusing on meaningful outreach rather than aggressive sloganeering.

Addressing recent incidents of violence, the Chief Minister described them as acts of desperation. Referring to an attack on a minister’s vehicle, he assured that law enforcement agencies are taking appropriate action.

“People want peace and stability. Our goal is to ensure both through development and good governance,” he said. He also dismissed allegations regarding land issues, clarifying that all actions are being carried out strictly within legal frameworks.

Dr. Saha concluded by reiterating that the BJP is committed to the overall development of TTAADC and remains confident of forming the next administration.

Senior BJP leaders, including state president Rajib Bhattacharya and Minister Tinku Roy, were present at the event.
