Union Home Minister Amit Shah is expected to visit Tripura on or around June 5 for a one-day tour, during which he is likely to review security arrangements along the India–Bangladesh border.
The visit is expected to include an on-ground assessment of border management systems, including the barbed-wire fencing along the international boundary. Tripura shares an 856-km-long border with Bangladesh, making it one of the sensitive stretches requiring continuous monitoring.
According to government sources, although the schedule has not been officially finalized, the Home Minister may inspect border outposts, evaluate the functioning of security infrastructure, and interact with personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF). He is also likely to hold discussions with officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Tripura government, state police, and district administration.
The review is expected to focus on strengthening surveillance systems, improving fencing and infrastructure along the border, and addressing operational challenges faced by security forces in the region.
