Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the Lankamura Border Outpost along the India–Bangladesh border in Tripura on Friday, where he inspected the latest weaponry and equipment deployed by the Border Security Force (BSF).
During the visit, Shah reviewed arms and ammunition showcased by the Border Security Force, which officials described as highly effective in strengthening surveillance and security along the international border.
The Home Minister also interacted with BSF personnel stationed at the outpost, sharing High-Tea with jawans and acknowledging their role in safeguarding the country’s borders.
On the occasion of World Environment Day, Shah participated in a plantation drive at the border outpost and planted an agarwood sapling, highlighting environmental awareness alongside border security efforts.
The visit took place at the Lankamura Border Outpost, a strategic location along the India–Bangladesh frontier in Tripura, where security arrangements remain a key focus for maintaining cross-border stability and preventing illegal activities.
