The Unakoti district health department has reported 13 confirmed dengue cases following tests conducted between November 5 and November 10, 2025. Out of 70 blood samples tested, 13 were found positive for the mosquito-borne disease.

According to health officials, the dengue patients include 4 from Deorachhera ADC village, 3 from Satlang, 2 from Kalaigiri, 1 from Srirampur, 1 from Murtichhera, and 1 from Bhadrapalli village.

In response to the outbreak, the district health authorities have taken swift preventive and control measures. A special medical team, comprising senior health officials, has visited the affected villages — Deorachhera, Satlang, Kalaigiri, Murtichhera, and Bhadrapalli — to assess the situation on the ground and coordinate response efforts.

To curb the spread of dengue, the department has organized five health camps across the affected areas. Additionally, ASHA workers and Multi-Purpose Workers (MPWs) are conducting door-to-door awareness campaigns, educating residents on mosquito control, early symptoms of dengue, and preventive measures such as eliminating stagnant water sources.

Health officials confirmed that all the dengue patients are currently under treatment, and their conditions are stable and improving.

The district health department has urged residents to remain vigilant, maintain clean surroundings, and destroy mosquito breeding sites such as uncovered water containers, discarded tires, and clogged drains. Continuous monitoring and vector-control activities are underway to prevent further spread of the disease.
