To tackle waterlogging and improve urban infrastructure before the monsoon season, the Agartala Municipal Corporation has launched a major initiative to modernize the city’s drainage system.

As part of the initiative, Mayor Dipak Majumdar conducted a special inspection visit to Ward No. 23 on Saturday. During the visit, he reviewed the condition of drainage networks and other civic infrastructure in the area.

The Mayor instructed concerned officials and engineers to take immediate steps for the renovation and reconstruction of old and dilapidated drains that have remained neglected for years. He emphasized that strengthening and modernizing the city’s drainage network before the onset of monsoon is one of the primary objectives of the civic body.

Speaking during the inspection, Mayor Dipak Majumdar said that the Municipal Corporation is working towards a permanent solution to recurring waterlogging and other civic inconveniences faced by residents during heavy rainfall.

The inspection was attended by the councillor of Ward No. 23, the Chairman of the Eastern Zone, along with several officials and engineers of the Municipal Corporation.

The Mayor further stated that the Agartala Municipal Corporation remains committed to improving urban civic infrastructure and ensuring better public services for the citizens of the city.
