Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee on Wednesday participated in an important meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare in New Delhi, where discussions focused on affordable cancer treatment and management.
During the meeting, the committee sought the views and expert inputs of specialists from leading medical institutions, including AIIMS and Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore, on measures to make cancer treatment more accessible and affordable.
The meeting also reviewed the overall work and functioning of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare for 2025–26.
Bhattacharjee said the discussions were aimed at strengthening healthcare delivery, ensuring timely and accurate diagnosis, and improving treatment and management of diseases, particularly cancer.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting efforts towards better diagnosis, affordable treatment and an improved healthcare system for people across the country.
