Former Tripura Chief Minister and BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb on Tuesday described West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as a ‘demon’ and asserted that the people of the state are prepared to bring about a change.

Speaking at Agartala’s Indranagar Kali Bari after performing a puja, Deb criticized Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, alleging a lack of human values in her governance. “The Chief Minister has transformed her behaviour in a way that is shocking. Issues such as murder, rape, and attacks on homes are becoming routine. This has made her infamous,” he said.

Deb, BJP’s Election Co-incharge for West Bengal, claimed that the people of the state are eager to free themselves from what he called misrule. “I have held several meetings there to understand the public sentiment, and I am confident that the people are ready to bring about change. The BJP will fight to uphold human values, and ultimately, the victory will belong to the people,” he added.

He also accused members of Mamata Banerjee’s family of being involved in corruption and land mafia activities, though he refrained from going into details at the temple.
