Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy today said that a strong and well-planned economic infrastructure, from the village to the urban level, is essential to make Tripura a self-reliant state.

He emphasized that the State Finance Commission is playing a crucial role in this process.

Speaking at a one-day seminar on the Tripura State Sixth Finance Commission at Pragya Bhavan, the minister highlighted the Commission’s significant contribution to the state’s development.

He recalled that the present government had earlier implemented several initiatives through the Fifth Finance Commission, and assured that similar welfare-driven measures will continue under the Sixth Commission.

“The government’s main objective is to build a financially strong Tripura by ensuring inclusive development in education, health, food, clothing, and housing. Adequate funds will be allocated to every district, covering both rural and urban areas,” Roy said.

He also urged officials to ensure uninterrupted implementation of public welfare programmes, stressing that the benefits of every scheme must reach the last person in society.
