Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury reaffirmed the Tripura government’s commitment to strengthening the public distribution system (PDS) in the state and ensuring its benefits reach every corner of Tripura.

As part of this initiative, Minister Chowdhury participated in a “mutual discussion, dialogue, and exchange of views” organized by the Fair Price Shop Management Association. 

The event, held at Auditorium No. 1 of Rabindra Bhawan, Agartala, brought together ration dealers from various districts, transporters involved in food item distribution, and millers from local mills.

During the session, stakeholders shared their challenges, and Minister Chowdhury engaged with them to explore solutions. 

He emphasized the need for joint efforts to strengthen the PDS and directed senior officials of the Department of Food, Public Procurement and Consumer Affairs to address the issues raised and take forward initiatives in the best interest of the people.

Minister Chowdhury also appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate actively to enhance the efficiency and reach of the public distribution system in the state.
