Job aspirants of the Tripura Prison Department took to the streets once again, this time holding empty rice plates as a symbol of their frustration.
The candidates who appeared for the 2022 recruitment examination gathered in front of the IG Prisons Office to voice their anger over the prolonged delay in the selection process.
According to the protesters, a notification for the recruitment of jail police was issued in 2022, followed by physical tests for nearly 12,000 candidates.
However, even after three years, the written and oral examinations have not been conducted, leaving the recruitment process incomplete. Despite submitting several deputations over this period, the candidates claim they have received no satisfactory response from the authorities.
Feeling compelled to express their grievances, they staged a symbolic protest today, demonstrating with empty plates in hand to highlight their struggle and uncertainty.
The job seekers have also appealed to the Chief Minister, urging her to intervene and ensure that the recruitment process is completed without further delay. The prolonged inaction by the government has triggered widespread dissatisfaction among unemployed youth awaiting these appointments.
