A sudden Kalbaisakhi storm lashed parts of Dharmanagar town in North Tripura on Sunday, leaving behind a trail of destruction and disrupting normal life across several areas.
Accompanied by strong winds and heavy rainfall, the storm uprooted trees, damaged shops and business establishments, and created panic among residents. In the Office Tilla area, a tiffin house was severely affected as the powerful gusts caused its structure to collapse, resulting in significant financial losses for the owner.
In another incident near the Juri Bridge, two shops were completely destroyed by the storm. Within moments, the area turned into debris, leaving local residents shocked and frightened by the sudden devastation.
The storm also caused a large tree to fall on the road in the Dighal Bank area, blocking vehicular movement for some time. Fire service personnel quickly arrived at the spot, cut the fallen tree, and cleared the road, restoring traffic flow.
The unexpected natural calamity has caused extensive damage in multiple parts of Dharmanagar and brought daily life to a standstill. Residents have urged the administration to take immediate steps to assist those affected, while officials are reportedly monitoring the situation closely.
