Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), led a high-level review meeting to assess efforts aimed at strengthening financial inclusion in Tripura.
The discussions centered on improving the state’s credit-deposit ratio, expanding access to banking services through government initiatives, and reinforcing the overall credit delivery framework.
Officials also addressed key challenges such as connectivity gaps and the need to widen the reach of bank branches and ATMs across the region.
According to an update shared by MDoNER on X, the meeting—held on April 28, 2026—was part of ongoing follow-up actions stemming from the North East Bankers Conclave 2024. The session focused on identifying bottlenecks and accelerating progress in financial inclusion across the state.
Several action points were outlined, including measures to enhance credit flow, strengthen banking infrastructure, and improve access to financial services in underserved areas.
The meeting was attended by senior officials including Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha, Joint Secretary Niraj Kumar (MDoNER), Manoj Muttathil Ayyappan from the Department of Financial Services, along with representatives from the North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Limited (NEDFi) and members of the State Level Bankers’ Committee, Tripura.
