North Tripura’s Dasda Aspirational Block is set to witness a major boost in infrastructure and welfare initiatives after the Empowered Committee of NITI Aayog approved development projects worth Rs 2 crore.
District Magistrate Chandni Chandran on Monday stated that the approved schemes are aimed at improving livelihood opportunities, sports facilities, digital education, child welfare services, and hostel infrastructure in the region.
According to officials, the project proposals were presented virtually by the District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura before the committee. Among the key projects cleared is the construction of an “Akanksha Haat” for Self-Help Group women entrepreneurs with an allocation of Rs 40 lakh. Another major initiative includes an “Akanksha Indoor Sports Complex” worth Rs 70 lakh to encourage sports activities and provide better facilities for local youth.
In addition, Rs 40 lakh has been approved for electrifying 200 Anganwadi centres across the block. To strengthen digital learning, Rs 20 lakh will be spent on supplying computers and projectors to five schools. The plan also includes Rs 30 lakh for upgrading infrastructure in four residential hostels.
Officials said the initiatives are intended to bridge developmental gaps at the grassroots level and improve access to essential services and opportunities for residents of Dasda Block.
Expressing appreciation for the support received from NITI Aayog, Chandni Chandran said the administration will now focus on ensuring the timely execution of all sanctioned projects.
