Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today asserted that politics rooted in confusion, division, and communal provocation will never succeed, emphasizing that the BJP-led government is committed to the comprehensive development of the Janajati community.
He made these remarks while attending an organizational programme at Barakathal Bazar under the Simna Assembly Constituency.
At the joining programme, the Chief Minister welcomed 107 families—comprising 312 dedicated voters—who officially joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing the gathering organized by Simna Mandal, Dr. Saha referred to recent claims that national political parties, including the BJP, would not be allowed to enter the TTAADC area.
“We often hear threats. So I want to say one thing— the more threats are issued, the stronger we become. I have heard that no activities would be allowed here in Barakathal Bazar, the Chief Minister would not be allowed to come, the Janajati Welfare Minister would not be allowed to come, and no BJP worker would be allowed to visit. But this place is not anyone’s personal property. It belongs to everyone. Any party has the right to go anywhere. The Bharatiya Janata Party will never tolerate intimidation in any form,” Dr. Saha said.
He added that Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee sacrificed his life in Jammu and Kashmir for the nation’s integrity, while Pandit Deen Dayal also laid down his life in Mughalsarai.
“Bharatiya Janata Party is one of the finest political parties in India. We have no conflict with regional parties—they may act as they wish. But politics that spreads confusion, division, or communal sentiments will never be fruitful. This has been proven time and again. Development cannot come through such politics. So I repeat—BJP’s doors remain open for those who are being misled by others. I urge them to join the BJP, because our graph is consistently rising,” the Chief Minister said.
Speaking further, Dr. Saha stated that peace has been restored across the Northeast under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Earlier, many people—especially some individuals from the Janajati sections—were inclined towards extremism because they did not understand who their true guardian was. Certain people misguided them for personal gain. Today, around 11–12 major agreements have been signed in the Northeast, bringing stability. Yet, some continue attempts to weaken the country,” he said.
The Chief Minister also highlighted that due to Prime Minister Modi’s efforts, seven eminent personalities from Tripura’s Janajati community have received the Padma Shri consecutively.
“After our government came to power, Agartala Airport was named after Maharaj Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur, the architect of modern Tripura. The day of Sangramma Puja has been declared a restricted holiday, and the government holiday for Gariya Puja has been increased from one day to two days,” Dr. Saha added.
The programme was also attended by Janajati Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, West District Sadar Grameen President Gauranga Bhowmik, Janajati Morcha Vice President Mangal Debbarma, Lefunga RD Block BAC Chairman Ranbir Debbarma, along with other senior leaders and karyakartas.
