Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb today asserted that the people of West Bengal are increasingly seeking an alternative to the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) and are placing their confidence in the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters, Deb criticised Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that her administration has “ruined Bengal.”

He further accused her of promoting her nephew within the political sphere, calling it “unprecedented,” and claimed that the rest of the state has been neglected under her leadership.

Deb also raised concerns over women’s safety in West Bengal. According to him, “there was a time when women could move freely,” but now even the Chief Minister advises women not to venture out after evening.

“People are eagerly awaiting the upcoming election, and women will play a decisive role in this battle for change,” he said.

Providing an update on the health of Tripura BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya, who is undergoing treatment at a private hospital for chest pain, Deb informed that his condition is stable.

He said a stent has been inserted, and Bhattacharya is recovering steadily.

“I spoke to the doctors. They have advised him to rest. He has been able to eat, and I am hopeful he will recover soon and resume his responsibilities in the party,” Deb added.
