Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today asserted that attempts to mislead the Janajati community through divisive politics, reminiscent of the communists, will not succeed.
He emphasized that the people of Tripura value peace, development, and democracy, and the state government will not tolerate any use of muscle power.
“If anyone attacks us, we will respond appropriately through legal means,” he said.
Dr. Saha made these remarks at the inauguration of the Takajala Mandal office, where he also welcomed 690 voters from 200 families into the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Highlighting the legacy of the party, Dr. Saha said, “Our predecessors built the BJP through self-sacrifice. Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee gave his life while protecting India’s integrity. The BJP continues to uphold the ideals of Pandit Deen Dayal Ji. Our Karyakartas are not afraid of any challenge. Attempts to stop us or resort to violence are temporary and will not succeed. The BJP gained power from the communists by strengthening its organization.”
Dr. Saha added, “Anyone threatening the BJP is living in a dream. Politics should have dignity. We have witnessed the dark days under the Communists and Congress, including incidents of murder, terrorism, rape, and arson. The BJP believes in Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, moving forward with everyone, ensuring development for all under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
He emphasized that the BJP Janajati Morcha is committed to the socio-economic development of the Janajati community and warned against any attempts to obstruct it.
“I have visited this area multiple times. The house of our Mandal President was attacked—a reflection of the same violent culture seen under the Communists. We want a fair and peaceful environment in Tripura. If anyone harms us unjustly, we will seek justice through legal means,” Dr. Saha said.
He further noted that prior governments used the Janajati community for vote-bank politics, often misleading them. “Our government prioritizes their development and welfare,” he added.
The event was attended by BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharya, state general secretary Bipin Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, district president Biplab Chakraborty, Takajala Mandal leader Nirmal Debbarma, and other senior party leaders.
