Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Saturday said the upcoming ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ would serve as an important platform to bring government services, welfare schemes and development initiatives closer to people at the grassroots level.
Chowdhury made the remarks while chairing a preparatory meeting at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office to review arrangements for the proposed programme.
Officials from several departments participated in the meeting, where preparations and responsibilities for the programme were discussed in detail. Representatives from the district administration, police, Agartala Municipal Corporation, education, health, agriculture, youth and sports, urban development, panchayats, PWD, Public Health Engineering, forest and social welfare departments were among those present.
The Minister directed officials to maintain close coordination among departments and ensure that preparations are completed well in advance. He stressed the importance of clearly assigning responsibilities and ensuring effective implementation at the grassroots level.
Chowdhury also called for greater public participation, saying that the success of the initiative would depend on active coordination between the administration and local communities.
According to the Minister, the ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ is intended to create greater awareness about government schemes and ensure that their benefits reach people across different sections of society.
He said the initiative reflects the government’s focus on strengthening public service delivery and maintaining closer engagement with citizens.
“Service, coordination and public welfare must move forward together,” Chowdhury said, urging all departments and stakeholders to work collectively to make the programme successful.
