At the recently concluded Telangana–North East Connect event—attended by the Governors of Telangana and Tripura as well as former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma—Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced a major new urban development initiative titled Bharat Future City.

The futuristic township, planned across 30,000 acres on the outskirts of Hyderabad, is envisioned as a hub for innovation, culture, and national integration.

As part of the project, the Chief Minister declared that the Telangana government would allocate free land and extend complete assistance for the establishment of India’s first North-East Annex within the city. The annex will be dedicated to showcasing the heritage of the eight North-Eastern states.

All eight states—Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura—will be invited to construct their respective state Bhavans. These Bhavans will feature cultural centres, hostels, exhibition galleries for traditional arts and handicrafts, and venues for performances, seminars, and cultural exchanges.

“Each state is welcome to build its own Bhavan, present its rich traditions, and strengthen ties between Telangana and the North-East,” Revanth Reddy said. Emphasizing the growing cultural connection, he added, “Today, a Telangana brother is serving as the Governor of Tripura, and a Tripura brother is representing Telangana as its Governor.”
