Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday strongly criticized the Left Front and its affiliated trade unions, asserting that bandh politics has lost relevance in the state.
Addressing the issue, Dr. Saha stated that normal life remained unaffected despite the bandh call. “There is no impact of any bandh in Tripura. Movement of people and vehicles is completely normal. Bandh politics no longer works. The Left Front only believes in calling bandhs. They claim to represent labourers and the working class, but in reality, they think only about themselves,” he said.
The Chief Minister alleged that during the Left Front’s rule, industries and factories suffered significantly. “Look at the condition of West Bengal. Tripura once had many factories, but they were shut down, making the poor even poorer. In contrast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently worked for the welfare of the poor under the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and ‘Sabka Prayas’,” he added.
Dr. Saha also highlighted the Vishwakarma Yojana, stating that the scheme aims to uplift communities that were previously neglected. “Earlier, no one thought about the Janajati people, but our government is working for their development. People cannot be misled anymore,” he remarked.
He further claimed that the public has rejected the politics of bandhs and opportunistic alliances. “They are playing old records. Parties that were once against each other have now joined hands, but people will not accept them,” the Chief Minister said.
