Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha today emphasized the growing scope of advanced healthcare services in Tripura, stating that more people are now availing themselves of surgical and specialized treatments within the state itself.
He urged citizens to continue this positive trend and make proper use of the state’s telemedicine system and improved healthcare infrastructure.
The Chief Minister said that unless absolutely necessary, people should avoid spending large sums of money seeking treatment outside the state in private hospitals, as quality medical services are now readily available in Tripura.
Dr. Saha said this during the 57th edition of Mukhyamantri Samipeshu, programme held at his official residence, where he interacted with people from various parts of the state regarding their health and other issues.
He listened to their concerns and instructed the officials present to take prompt action to resolve them.
Among those who met the Chief Minister were Kavita Rishidas from Dukli Block seeking help for her daughter’s heart treatment, and Kamal Sarkar from Tuisindrai in Teliamura for his daughter’s medical aid. Others included Kamalendu Dhar from Aralia in Agartala, Pradip Debnath from Panisagar Block in North Tripura, Tapan Kumar Das from Sonamura in Sepahijala district, Rasamohan Das from Manu Block in Dhalai district, Tapas Dey from Mohanbhog Block, Gautam Pal from Town Bardowali in Agartala, and Kumar Narayan Chowdhury from Ramnagar. Debashish Das from Kalabaria in Belonia also sought support for his daughter’s critical illness.
The Chief Minister listened attentively to each case and directed the concerned departmental officials to take immediate necessary action.
Present at the programme were Health and Family Welfare Secretary Kiran Gitte, Social Welfare and Social Education Secretary Tapas Roy, Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister Samit Ray Choudhury, Health Department Director Dr. Debashree Debbarma, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Cancer Centre Medical Superintendent Dr. Shiromani Debbarma, GBP Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, and other senior officials.
