Tripura’s Leader of the Opposition, Jitendra Choudhury, on Sunday voiced concern over the growing rise of individualism in contemporary society and urged the youth to embrace a collective, service-oriented mindset.
He was speaking at a blood donation camp held at the Joynagar Mela Ground, organized as part of the seventh regional conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI).
The event saw the presence of DYFI state secretary Nabarun Dey and several other dignitaries, who joined Choudhury in encouraging voluntary social participation among young people.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhury emphasized that self-centered thinking is weakening social bonds and must be replaced with a stronger sense of responsibility toward the community. He commended the DYFI for arranging the blood donation camp, calling it an example of how youth organizations can uphold humanitarian values.
Choudhury highlighted that young individuals should not limit their ambitions to personal gain, but instead channel their strength and enthusiasm toward collective progress. He urged the youth to prioritize societal well-being and continue engaging in initiatives that benefit the broader community.
Expressing gratitude to all donors, he extended his best wishes for their health and applauded their contribution, noting that such acts of generosity play an essential role in building a compassionate society.
