In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation amid the ongoing global energy crisis, Tripura ministers Sushanta Chowdhury and Ratan Lal Nath have taken notable initiatives to promote responsible energy use and eco-friendly transportation.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury announced through a social media post that he has decided to discontinue the use of two escort vehicles assigned to his security detail. He stated that the decision was made in the larger interest of conserving fuel and supporting national welfare.
In his message, the minister said that until the global fuel crisis improves, he would avoid using the escort vehicles as a gesture of support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for fuel conservation. He also urged citizens to become more mindful about saving fuel and protecting national resources. His move has been widely appreciated as a symbol of simplicity and responsible governance.
At the same time, Agriculture and Power Minister Ratan Lal Nath has adopted a unique approach to spread awareness about environmental protection and fuel saving. Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, he announced that he would stop using escort vehicles and instead travel by bicycle whenever possible for nearby visits and public programs.
The minister shared that cycling in the morning brought back memories of his childhood and helped him reconnect with nature. He remarked that nation-building is not achieved only through major announcements, but also through small and meaningful personal initiatives.
He further emphasized that patriotism should be reflected not just in words, but also in everyday actions and habits. Encouraging people to conserve fuel, reduce pollution, and protect the environment, he called for greater public awareness regarding sustainable living.
Ratan Lal Nath’s initiative has received positive feedback from the public, with many believing that such efforts will inspire more people across Tripura to adopt eco-friendly transportation and become more environmentally conscious.
