Tripura recorded almost normal rainfall in November this year, ending the month with 30.8 mm of precipitation—just 3% below the long-period average of 31.8 mm. According to a report issued by the Meteorological Centre in Agartala, the state’s overall rainfall behaviour remained close to what is typically expected for this time of the year.

Sabroom in South Tripura stood out prominently, receiving the highest station-level rainfall at 100.4 mm. The town also experienced the most intense single-day downpour of the month, with 96.8 mm recorded on November 5. At the district scale, South Tripura registered the most rainfall with 57.6 mm, reflecting a 70% surplus and placing it in the “Excess” category. Meanwhile, Unakoti district stayed significantly dry, managing only 10.7 mm—68% below normal—putting it in the “Large Deficient” bracket.

Temperature readings from the MBB Airport station highlighted slightly warmer conditions than usual. The month’s highest maximum temperature of 32.5°C was documented on November 1, while the mean maximum settled at 30.6°C, around 0.8°C above normal. The mercury dropped to a minimum of 14.7°C on November 27, yet the mean minimum temperature remained elevated at 19.0°C, which is 1.3°C above the seasonal norm—indicative of warmer nights throughout November.

The report also noted two early-morning episodes of dense fog, signalling the gradual transition toward cooler and more moisture-laden winter weather.
