In a major boost to Tripura's healthcare sector, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Tripura have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the state's diagnostic infrastructure under the Prime Minister's Fund.

As part of the agreement, Tripura will be equipped with 48 AI-powered portable handheld X-ray machines, three 1.5 Tesla MRI scanners, and three Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) mammography systems. These advanced medical devices will be installed at the district hospitals in Dhalai, North Tripura, and Gomati, improving access to modern diagnostic services for people across the state.

The introduction of AI-enabled X-ray technology and advanced imaging systems is expected to enhance early detection of diseases, improve diagnostic accuracy, and ensure timely medical care, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Tripura Health Secretary Kiran Gitte, National Health Mission (NHM) Tripura Director Saju Wahid, and senior officials from both the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and the state health department.

The initiative reflects the Government of India's continued commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure through the adoption of advanced technology, making quality, affordable, and accessible healthcare services available to every citizen in Tripura.
