Director General of Police (DGP) of Tripura, Anurag, on Friday said that the state government has accorded top priority to strengthening police infrastructure and improving healthcare facilities, assuring that modern vehicles and upgraded medical equipment will be made available in the coming months.
After reviewing various police establishments, the DGP emphasised that enhancing the mobility of the police force remains a key focus for the year.
He said the government has generously sanctioned funds to ensure that all police stations are equipped with modern vehicles.
“Within the next few months, every police station will receive at least one new vehicle. Some vehicles have already been procured, and orders for additional ones are currently being placed. The entire process is expected to be completed by March, April, or May,” he said.
During his visit, Anurag reviewed the police lines and inspected the facilities and amenities available for personnel. He also visited the hospital attached to the police establishment to assess its existing infrastructure and identify areas requiring further improvement.
“I have reviewed the hospital facilities and assessed the requirements for upgradation. I have assured that all necessary arrangements will be made to enhance the facilities so that patients can receive better and more effective treatment,” the DGP stated.
Highlighting the broader role of the hospital, Anurag noted that it serves not only police personnel but also members of the general public, underscoring the importance of upgrading medical services.
“Civilian patients also come here for treatment, so it is extremely important that the facilities are improved for the benefit of everyone,” he added.
