Four MBBS students including a youth from Tripura lost their lives in a horrifying late-night accident after their speeding car crashed into a parked DCM truck on the Delhi–Lucknow National Highway in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district on Wednesday late night.
The incident took place around 10:30 p.m. near the DVR Restaurant in Atrasi village under Rajabpur police station limits. Eyewitnesses described the impact as devastating, with the car reduced to a mangled heap and the roof torn off by the force of the collision. Debris was strewn across the highway, leaving no chance of survival for those inside.
Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the crash and immediately alerted the police. Officers arrived shortly after, cordoned off the area, and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination. Aadhaar cards recovered from the wreckage helped identify the victims.
Police and forensic teams worked through the night, documenting the scene and gathering evidence to determine the exact cause of the accident. Due to the extensive damage, rescuers had to cut parts of the vehicle to retrieve the bodies.
Officials confirmed that all four deceased were MBBS students from Sri Venkateshwara University in Gajraula, where they were pursuing their internships. University authorities were promptly informed and later reached the site to help with identification and coordinate support for the families.
The victims were identified as:
Arnab Chakraborty (Kolkata)
Ayush Sharma (Delhi)
Shreshtha Pancholi (Delhi)
Saptarishi (Tripura)
Amroha SP Amit Kumar Anand stated that the bodies have been shifted to the mortuary and post-mortems will be conducted once the families arrive. Further action will be taken after completing legal formalities and recording statements from relatives.
