Tripura Police from Amtali Police Station have arrested two suspected snatchers and recovered a stolen gold chain following a swift operation in the Sekerkot Darogabari area.
According to reports, a woman named Manju Munda was on her way to a bank on Thursday afternoon when she was suddenly targeted by two criminals. As she reached the Sekerkot Darogabari area, the assailants snatched a gold chain from her neck and attempted to flee.
The victim immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of nearby locals, who rushed to the scene. Police were quickly informed and arrived shortly after, launching an immediate operation.
Officers arrested the two accused, identified as Debabrata Dutta and Bijoy Sarkar, and successfully recovered the stolen gold chain from their possession.
Following the incident, Manju Munda filed a written complaint at the police station. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered against the accused.
Officer-in-Charge Paritosh Das stated that the two arrested suspects will be produced before the court on Friday. He added that the rapid response by police helped restore a sense of security among local residents.
