A district-level review meeting was convened in Sipahijala on Monday to assess the progress of ongoing development works and the implementation of various government schemes. Tribal Welfare Minister and Guardian Minister for Sipahijala district, Bikash Debbarma, chaired the meeting.

The meeting brought together senior officials and representatives from several departments to review the status of key government programmes and identify gaps in implementation and public service delivery.

Discussions focused on major sectors including education, healthcare, drinking water supply, road connectivity and other essential services. Officials apprised the minister of the progress of ongoing projects, while measures to overcome implementation hurdles and ensure timely completion were also discussed.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Minister Bikash Debbarma said the government was giving priority to the effective execution of development programmes and ensuring that projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.

He stressed that government initiatives must translate into tangible benefits for ordinary citizens. Any shortcomings in service delivery should be identified promptly and corrective measures taken, he said, adding that accountability in the implementation of government schemes must be strengthened.

As Guardian Minister, Debbarma is responsible for monitoring development activities in the district, facilitating coordination among departments and reviewing the implementation of various welfare and development programmes.

The meeting further emphasised regular monitoring of projects in critical sectors to accelerate development and ensure that the benefits of government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries without unnecessary delays.
