Tripura's ambitious plan to create replicas of all 51 Shakti Peeths is steadily progressing at Bandoar in Udaipur, home to the revered Mata Tripureswari Temple. The project, undertaken by the Tripura Tourism Department, is designed to strengthen the state's position as a leading spiritual tourism destination while celebrating its rich religious and cultural heritage.

Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Adhokshajananda Devtirthaji Maharaj, Peethadheeshwar of the Purvamnaya Govardhan Math in Puri, visited the under-construction complex on Monday to review the progress of the work.

During the visit, the Shankaracharya praised the initiative, expressing confidence that the completed complex would draw devotees and tourists from across the country and abroad. He described the project as one with the potential to become a globally recognised centre for spirituality and pilgrimage.

Calling it a landmark venture, the Tourism Minister said the initiative would not only preserve Tripura's spiritual traditions but also provide a major boost to religious tourism and the local economy. He added that the project is expected to stand as a lasting symbol of the state's cultural identity and spiritual legacy for generations to come.
