Tripura Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha said that the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has emerged as a major digital healthcare initiative of the Central Government, enabling citizens across the country to receive digital health identities and bringing healthcare services onto a secure, integrated digital platform.
Dr. Saha made the statement while attending a meeting chaired by Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare J. P. Nadda. The meeting was attended by Health Ministers of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha, Union Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav, Union Ministers of State for Commerce and Industry Anupriya Patel and Jitin Prasada, along with other members of the Mission Steering Group.
Highlighting Tripura’s progress under the mission, the Chief Minister said that nearly 80 percent of the state’s population has already been covered under the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) initiative. He added that the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professional Registry (HPR) have achieved 100 percent completion in the state.
“Till now, around 18 lakh digital tokens have been issued to patients across 31 government hospitals through the Scan and Share service. This has significantly reduced waiting time for patients and ensured faster delivery of healthcare services,” Dr. Saha said.
He further informed that IGM Hospital has been developed as a model hospital under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, where several digital healthcare services are being provided to patients visiting the facility.
The Chief Minister also announced that West Tripura district has been selected as a model district under ABDM for the implementation of various digital healthcare programmes. He said that a door-to-door awareness campaign has been launched across the state to ensure 100 percent coverage of ABHA accounts among citizens.
Dr. Saha stated that all government and private hospitals covered under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) and Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana (CM-JAY) have been directed to implement the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission Integrated Hospital Management Information System (HMIS).
He added that steps have been taken to integrate the Hospital Management Information System with various government health portals to facilitate seamless exchange of patient information and digital health records.
“The National Health Claim Exchange will soon be introduced in all government hospitals covered under PM-JAY and CM-JAY. This will enable citizens to access health insurance services in a faster, paperless, and more convenient manner,” Dr. Saha said.
