Public dissatisfaction is steadily increasing over the deteriorating condition of several stretches of the Khowai-Agartala National Highway. Large potholes, damaged road sections, and waterlogging caused by rain have been creating severe difficulties for pedestrians and vehicle users for a long time.

Local residents alleged that despite the urgent need for repair work on various parts of the highway, no effective steps have been taken by the concerned authorities. As a result, commuters are being forced to travel under risky conditions every day. During the monsoon season, rainwater accumulated in potholes makes it difficult to identify the actual condition of the road, increasing the possibility of accidents.

Vehicle drivers also expressed concern, stating that hundreds of small and large vehicles use the highway daily, but the damaged condition of the road is causing delays and leading to increased wear and tear of vehicles.

Residents further claimed that the matter has been brought to the attention of the concerned authorities several times, but no permanent repair initiative has been noticed so far. As a result, ordinary people continue to suffer daily hardships.

Local residents, pedestrians, and drivers have urged the authorities to immediately begin repair work on the damaged sections of the Khowai-Agartala National Highway and ensure safe, smooth, and accident-free movement for commuters.

However, no official response has yet been received from the concerned department regarding the allegations.
