No room for corruption; development is our priority, Says Tripura CM

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that from January to May this year, the state government has undertaken infrastructure development projects worth approximately ₹578 crore, reaffirming its commitment to development and transparency.

Speaking at the Gitanjali Auditorium in Kumarghat, Unakoti district, Dr. Saha virtually inaugurated 10 development projects and laid the foundation stones for five others.

“This government has made development one of its highest priorities. Despite that, some continue to try and tarnish the image of the government. But there is a limit to everything. If anyone crosses that limit, it will not be tolerated,” he warned.

Highlighting the government’s welfare-driven initiatives, the Chief Minister noted that the Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees has been increased without any agitation or demand. “We are disbursing DA as much as possible. Significant progress has been made in districts like Gomati and Dhalai, which have been recognized for their achievements. Because there is no substitute for hard work,” he added.

Dr. Saha also mentioned that modernization work is underway at Kumarghat, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur railway stations with funding from the central government. “Although there are some delays, as pointed out by the local MLA, I will speak with the Union Minister concerned to expedite the work. Unlike previous governments, we are committed to people-centric development and not corruption,” he said.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the nation’s steady progress since 2014 and lauded his leadership for responding firmly to national threats, including through initiatives like Operation Sindoor.

“Law and order, along with stability, are essential for development. Our state is witnessing progress across sectors — health, agriculture, sports — and this is possible because of people’s support,” Dr. Saha said.

He asserted that the era of manipulative politics is over. “We want to move forward with everyone. But if someone refuses to cooperate, nothing can be done. Politics cannot be imposed by force. Simplicity cannot be exploited. Necessary action will be taken to ensure a just and fair environment for all,” he added.
