Patanjali Yogpeeth to establish yoga center, biodiversity Park, holds meeting with CM in Tripura

Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust) has expressed a keen interest in collaborating with the Tripura government to support the state’s growth across multiple sectors including agriculture, religious tourism, information technology, and skill development.

This announcement came following a high-level meeting at the Secretariat today, chaired by Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha. 

The meeting was attended by a three-member delegation led by Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth (Trust).

Addressing the delegation, Dr. Saha highlighted Tripura’s emergence as a front-runner among Indian states, particularly within the North Eastern region, in terms of Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) and per capita income. 

He emphasized that the state’s developmental trajectory is driven by its unique potential and resources.

“Tripura is blessed with abundant natural resources and rich archaeological heritage. Tourist attractions such as the Mata Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur, Narikelkunja in Dambur, Unakoti, and Chabimura are drawing visitors both from across India and abroad,” said the Chief Minister. 

He also noted the significant improvements in the state’s communication infrastructure and praised the stable law and order environment.

Inviting Patanjali Yogpeeth to actively contribute, Dr. Saha encouraged the delegation to participate in harnessing Tripura’s potential for inclusive development.

Responding positively, Acharya Balkrishna expressed Patanjali Yogpeeth’s commitment to supporting Tripura’s growth. The Trust intends to set up a Yoga and Wellness Center, a Biodiversity Park, and initiate skill development training programs in the state. Additionally, the delegation conveyed plans to organize a large-scale religious conference in Tripura, further promoting religious tourism.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including RK Samal, Principal Secretary of the Forest Department; Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary to the Chief Minister; Kiran Gitte, Secretary of Health and Family Welfare; Abhishek Singh, Secretary of Urban Development; Apurba Roy, Secretary of Finance; Dr. K. Sasikumar, Secretary of Tribal Welfare; U. K. Chakma, Secretary of Tourism; among others.
