Ahead of the upcoming village committee, Nagar Panchayat and municipal council elections in Tripura, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has intensified its organisational activities to strengthen its grassroots network and ensure a decisive victory, said state BJP president Abhishek Debroy on Sunday.

During his visit to Unakoti district, Debroy said the party has initiated a comprehensive assessment of its organisational preparedness across all districts and is chalking out strategies to address weaknesses and further strengthen its base among the people.

Explaining the BJP’s organisational process, Debroy said that after assuming charge as the state president, it is his responsibility to visit every district, interact with party leaders, office-bearers and grassroots workers, and understand the ground realities.

“Today, I have visited Unakoti district along with ministers Tinku Roy and Santana Chakma, General Secretary Bhagaban Das and other senior leaders. We will hold detailed discussions with party workers and leaders to review the organisational situation and prepare a roadmap for the future,” he said.

He stated that the meetings would focus on identifying challenges, correcting shortcomings and formulating strategies to make the party more effective at the grassroots level.

“Several important elections are approaching, including village committee, Nagar Panchayat and municipal council polls. We will discuss the areas where we need improvement and take necessary organisational steps to secure a massive mandate,” Debroy said.

The BJP state president added that similar review meetings are being conducted in every district as part of the party’s election preparation. He informed that he had already visited North Tripura district and received an encouraging response from party workers and supporters.

“The enthusiasm among workers and the support from people have given us confidence. Our priority is to further strengthen the organisation at every level and ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society,” Debroy said.
