Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on Saturday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the state's preparedness for potential waterlogging and flood situations during the ongoing monsoon season.
Held at the conference hall of TIFT, the meeting focused on flood management strategies across vulnerable areas, including the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) jurisdiction. Officials reviewed existing preparedness measures and discussed additional steps to strengthen the state's response to heavy rainfall and flooding.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for enhanced coordination among all concerned departments, effective functioning of early warning systems, and prompt emergency response to minimise the impact of any flood-related situation.
Reiterating the government's commitment to public safety, Prof. Saha said protecting the lives and property of citizens during the monsoon remains the administration's highest priority.
He directed the administration to remain on full alert, ensure comprehensive preparedness, and maintain close coordination among all departments and agencies to respond swiftly to any emergency arising from adverse weather conditions.
