Job aspirants for the Tripura Police Special Executive posts staged a protest in front of the Chief Minister’s residence on Tuesday, demanding the immediate completion of the long-pending recruitment process.
However, the police detained the protesters for assembling without prior permission and took them in police vans to the AD Nagar Police Lines.
The protesters demanded that the authorities publish the results at the earliest and complete the recruitment process without further delay. They warned that if their demands are not met, they would launch a larger agitation in the coming days.
According to the job aspirants, the prolonged delay in the recruitment process has pushed them into a state of extreme uncertainty, leaving them with no option but to take to the streets. Before being detained, they reiterated that failure to publish the results and finalize the recruitment would compel them to intensify their movement in the future.
The aspirants alleged that a recruitment notification was issued in 2022 for 6,067 posts under the Tripura Police Special Executive. Soon after the notification, physical efficiency tests and written examinations were conducted. However, despite nearly three years having passed since the completion of the examinations, neither the results nor the merit list has been published so far.
They further claimed that the lack of clear information regarding the recruitment process over such a long period has caused severe mental and financial distress to many candidates. Repeated approaches to the administration have yielded no concrete assurances, leading to growing frustration among the aspirants.
The job seekers have demanded the immediate publication of the results and completion of the recruitment process. They have also appealed to Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha to consider the matter with due seriousness and intervene to resolve the issue at the earliest.
