A sensation gripped Ashwini Market after the blood-stained body of a man, identified as Manindra Sarkar, was recovered from the area. Following the incident, West District Superintendent of Police Namit Pathak, Additional Superintendent of Police Dhruba Nath, and Amtali SDPO Parmita Pandey rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.

A forensic team along with a dog squad also reached the scene and started collecting evidence as part of the investigation. To prevent any escalation of tension similar to the recent Kathaltali incident, additional TSR and CRPF personnel were deployed in the area.

Speaking to reporters, SP Namit Pathak said that preliminary investigation suggests it to be a case of murder. He stated that multiple injury marks caused by a sharp weapon were found on the body.

The SP further informed that several persons suspected to be involved in the incident have been detained and are being questioned. He added that the exact details of the incident will become clearer after the post-mortem examination.

The murder has created widespread tension and panic among residents of the area, with police continuing their investigation to uncover the circumstances behind the incident.
