The Tripura Power Department is set to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with REC Limited to advance power infrastructure projects across the state.
REC Limited, formerly known as Rural Electrification Corporation Limited, is a ‘Maharatna’ public sector company under the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
It finances and promotes power projects nationwide and is registered with the RBI as a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC), Public Financial Institution (PFI), and Infrastructure Financing Company (IFC).
Tripura Power Secretary Abhishek Singh, IAS, recently visited the REC Corporate Office in Gurugram to explore potential collaboration opportunities in the power sector. During the visit, he toured the REC Experience Centre, which features interactive installations highlighting the company’s achievements and its vision for a greener, more sustainable energy future.
Singh said he met with Jitendra Srivastava, CMD of REC Limited, to discuss the partnership. “We will be partnering with REC to implement key power infrastructure projects in Tripura. We expect the MoU to be signed within a month,” he stated.
The collaboration is expected to accelerate power development initiatives in Tripura and support the state’s efforts toward sustainable energy expansion.
